Dave's Fox Head Tavern

God, do I miss the Dave days of my misspent youth! I have forgotten many of the wonderful nights I wasted here, but those that I remember glow with a lurid light that may or may not have any relationship to the reality.

Lord how I miss that jukebox every time I get drunk. What says "Stay Classy Iowa City" more than the double wide Fox Head? Nuthin.

It‘s an iconic writers‘ drinking hole without comparison; it sits smack in the middle in between the east coast and the west coast literary snobs are nothing but pretentious pricks to the ghost of local bandits. Come, shoot some pool and feel excluded! Even Ray Carver was chased out of this shitty little town.
Best time to visit: Fall.
Minus point: only one good cerveza on tap.

Place is a Dump, but they do serve wine coolers

The Foxhead is obviously Iowa City‘s best bar by far.

Truly a piece of old Iowa City. For hipsters, locals, & local hipsters. Decent beer on tap, too.
