Contrary to what everyone else says their crab rangoons are mediocre at best. The grease in the fryer has likely been there as long as the restaurant and the rangoons taste like something you‘d get at a low end carnival. Way too much shell and way too little filling. The customer service is horrible, for delivery and pick-up. Their dishes are somewhat tasteless, and the chicken is almost always overcooked and chewy. Despite the horrible food, the sneering shrew behind the cash register, the smirking cooks, likely loogies in the food, and the way they rarely say thanks if you tip, there are two reasons to go to this horrible place: The hot and sour soup and the fried dumplings. The hot and sour soup tastes ok, but that‘s not the reason to try it. That sh*t is like something straight out of Super Mario Bros. 3. Big, wide cut mushrooms, some poached egg ghoshly globs floating in tea colored broth, big chunks of tofu(ok that‘s not really such a good thing), and some awesome sour tasting bits. It‘s worth a try. And the dumplings, well they actually taste good, so try them.

First of all--China Wok is my absolute #1 choice for Chinese food. And yes, it is true, they do have the absolute best crab rangoons. It blows me away how you can find the best food in humble little joints like that.

Where to begin? They deserve a reward for their food and service, as both were the worst I have ever received from a Chinese restaurant. Perhaps they were having an apocalyptic evening. After eating some of what I ordered, now I am, too.

If I don‘t get sick during the night and need to go to the ER, I will be a satisfied customer. I feel like someone in the kitchen excavated their sinuses into the sauce, and that is what made it so ... gooey. (Please tell me it wasn‘t ejaculate.) I‘m all for giving a business a second chance, but I fear the midnight diarrhea in my pants.

Of this exceptionally bland, disappointing culinary experience, I have one thing left to say (and it pains me to type this): more MSG, please.

This Chinese food is better then most in iowa city, but Iowa City Chinese food kind of sucks in general. If I feel like eating mei fun or crab ragoons I will call them up, but the food is really greasy and kind of bland (Like most take out).
